Amazing 2005 Bentley Continental GT with only 19K mBentley Continental GT Coupe 2005The GTC is a heavy automobile, weighing in at over 6,000 pounds, which makes for absolutely rock-solid handling under almost any conditions. This impeccably handing, utterly gorgeous automobile is not for everyone, being very much at the high-end. For those who can afford it, there is no other car that combines performance and luxury so nicely. Two people travel in the lap of luxury. The two passengers in the back seat will be uncomfortable after a fairly short distance. This is really an automobile for a couple. The torque is nothing short of incredible, testimony to the BorgWarner turbos lurking under the hood. It is a beast, but a very comfortable one. Freeway travel is effortless. The ride is luxurious and quiet, as befits a GT, but one where civilized conversations or serious music are routine. Off the freeway, on country or mountain roads, switch to manual and use second and third to travel seriously fast, or go to the sport mode that tightens things up. The steering seems a trifle heavy, but it is exquisitely precise, especially when cornering at speed. There is no squealing or tilting. The tracking is exemplary, but I found the paddles located on the steering wheel somewhat awkward and used the shift lever instead. But this is a matter of taste. This is the epitome of a thoroughly civilized motorcar in the classic sense of the word, teamed with performance that is truly breathtaking. Very much an automobile for the affluent, this high-end coupe may seem a trifle ponderous on first acquaintance, but it’s not. Highly recommended for long-term ownership. This "new" turbo r model was introduced in 1996 to distinguish it from the previous turbo r cars. Designed for the owner-driver as a "supercar" that would still handle like a sedan, when the turbo r was released it was said by motor trend magazine to be "the first bentley in decades deserving of the famous name". This bentley gleams in the classic racing green (over 200 lbs. Of paint on the body), with stunning parchment leather interior and green piping, the turbo r has the quality of being both sporty and luxurious. I've found it a joy to own, not least because of it's great beauty as well as it's exciting performance. Outside, the car seems to throb with power with it's low, muted growl. And the car absolutely rockets past others when that power is called upon. I love driving this car, partly because it's so responsive - it's an over-used word, but truly applies with the turbo r. The shifter is addictive, inviting to use for downshifting in a variety of situations, like inclines or an instant passing power-burst. I usually drive it in the "sport" mode which provides quicker downshifts among other things. Another driving pleasure is the superb german made, becker audio system with ten loudspeakers including sub-woofer low end augmentation - the system is as good as the best current models. The air conditions system was rebuilt this summer and brakes recently replaced where needed. I acquired the car in 2003 as the second owner. It had 5,000 miles and i've put on the balance of the current 30,600 miles. My bentley has been lovingly cared for and maintained by a factory certified rolls royce/bentley mechanic. Service records are included as well as the manuals, original mouton lambs wool carpet overlays, and tools fitted into the boot and a fabric cover for the car.
